WEDNESDAY JUNE 17th 2026

  • 10am | Connecting the Dots: Where Do We Go From Here?

    Community wide online speakers series FT Dr. Saturu Ned of The Black Panther Party - via zoom - REGISTER HERE

    Dr. Saturu Ned, then known as James Mott, joined the Black Panther Party in May 1968 in Sacramento, California, while attending Sacramento City College. Saturu was a member of the ‘Lumpen’, the Black Panther Party singing group. A book was written by Professor Ricky Vincent called “Party Music” the untold story of the Lumpen and their influence on the Black Power Movement. The forward of the book was written by Film producer and former rapper Boots Riley.

    Dr Saturu was a teacher at the award-winning Oakland Community School and Learning Center that was started and run by Black Panther Party Members. He has appeared on numerous television and video productions, radio, print and online publications. Dr. Ned is one of the Co-founders and the Chief Operations officer of the Black Panther Party Alumni Legacy Network. He continues to work in the interest of serving the needs and developing self sufficency for Black and oppressed communities as an Educator, Innovator, Consultant and survival Programs Architect.

  • 4pm | Seeds of the Diaspora Tasting & Workshop

    Community Wide experience - D Street Neighborhood Center, 1301 D Street, Arcata | Free

    Experience history through flavor during this guided sensory journey featuring five African diasporic herbs and ingredients: benne, grains of paradise, filé, sarsaparilla, and curry leaf. Each tasting station will connect food traditions to the resilience, healing practices, and cultural knowledge of Black communities during the Reconstruction era. Smaller activation pop-ups will also take place during Friday and Saturday’s festival programming.

  • Reconstruction: America After the Civil War Community Screening

    Community wide film screening & talk back -

    Doors at 6:45 p.m. | Screening at 7:15 p.m. | Minor Theatre, 1001 H Street, Arcata | Free

    Gather for a community screening of the first installment of Reconstruction: America After the Civil War. The film examines the often-overlooked period from 1865 to 1877, when newly freed Black communities founded schools, participated in elections, built institutions, and reshaped American public life. The evening offers an opportunity to learn, remember, and reflect on the unfinished work of Reconstruction.

 

THURSDAY JUNE 18th 2026

  • 10am | The state of black mental health

    Community wide online speakers series FT Thomas Lee - via zoom - REGISTER HERE

    Thomas Lee is a Licensed and Marriage Family therapist in the golden state of California.  Thomas completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Memphis where he received a Bachelor or Art Degree in Psychology.  In 2014, he graduated for the University of Central Florida with a Master's of Art Degree in Mental Health Counseling. After completing his studies, he embarked on his counseling career.  He has had the privilege of working in a residential treatment center, the non-profit sector, clinics, and private practice.  He has worked with populations such as the recently incarcerated, homeless, Black and POC community, and the LGBTQIA+ community.         Thomas Lee is also the author of The Miseducation of Thomas Lee Crockett: "A Mental Health Love Letter to the Black Community".  He received a publishing contract with Wildling Press.  The book will be release June 30th, 2026.

    Community Wide event - Blue Lake Skating Rink - 312 South Railroad Avenue, Blue Lake CA | $5 suggested donation

    Lace up your skates and roll into Juneteenth weekend with an evening of music, movement, laughter, and grown-folks fun. DJ Professor Funk will provide the soundtrack as well as a new Juneteenth special release! Whether you glide, wobble, or dance beside the rink, everyone is invited to join the groove.

 

FRIDAY JUNE 19th 2026

  • 10am | What is juneteenth? What is lineage?

    Community wide online speakers series FT Black Humboldt Hub - via zoom - REGISTER HERE

    Join us for a community conversation exploring the history of Juneteenth, the meaning of lineage, and the stories of Black resistance carried across generations. Through storytelling and reflection, this speaker series invites participants to connect the struggle for emancipation with our ancestral roots, family histories, and shared responsibility to carry the work of liberation forward.

  • 5:30pm | Hip hop friday night market takeover

    Community Wide experience - Old Town Eureka Gazebo | Free

    Black Humboldt brings Juneteenth energy to the Friday Night Market with an evening of hip-hop, community, and creative expression. The takeover will feature live performances, Black Humboldt’s open mic, “The People’s Mic”, a hip-hop cypher, activities for children including a surprise from Dream Athletics, and opportunities for local artists and community members to take the stage. Come downtown to eat, dance, connect, and celebrate Juneteenth in the heart of Old Town Eureka

  • 5:30pm | “Honoring the Past to seed the future” visual art show

    Community Wide Art Exhibition hosted by The Epitome Gallery in their hidden art gallery.

    Exhibition featuring artwork from local Black & Brown artists that reflects Black history, memory, resilience, and future-making. The exhibition will be up until June 26th 2026.

  • 6:30pm | Seeds of the diaspora tasting activation

    Community Wide experience of tasting and learning diaspora food history hosted inside The Epitome Gallery through out the Friday Night Market.

    Taste your way through African diasporic food history during this interactive community experience. Hosted inside The Epitome Gallery throughout the Friday Night Market, the activation invites guests to sample culturally significant ingredients while learning the stories, traditions, and resilience carried through food.

  • 7pm | Burn Stich artist collective All ages Punk show

    Community wide event hosted at The Savage Henry Club - 415 5th st Eureka ca

    Turn up the volume at an all-ages punk show celebrating Black resistance, alternative culture, and the freedom to be loud. This high-energy night creates space for youth and adults to experience live music together in an affirming community environment. The event is open to all ages, with a bar available for guests ages 21 and older with valid identification.

SATURDAY JUNE 21st 2026

  • 12pm | Juneteenth Day Festival

    FREE - Community wide event hosted at Halvorsen Park - 1003 Waterfront Drive Eureka - FULL SCHEDULE

    The Juneteenth Day Festival is the heart of Black Humboldt’s weekend celebration. Community members of all ages are invited to gather at Halvorsen Park for an afternoon rooted in Black culture, creativity, remembrance, and collective joy. Expect a vibrant community atmosphere filled with art, performance, music, cultural programming, connection, and opportunities to support local organizations, artists, and businesses.

  • 8pm | Black Burlesque show hosted by Club Anti - Juneteenth After Party | Richard’s Goat

    Ticketed community event hosted by Club Anti & Richard’s Goat - 445 I ST Arcata CA

    After the day festival, step into a bold evening celebrating Black performance, sensuality, confidence, and creative freedom. Presented by Club Anti, this ticketed after-party brings burlesque, music, nightlife, and unapologetic Black joy together under one roof. Come dressed to celebrate and ready for a night that turns all the way up!

SUNDAY JUNE 21st 2026

  • 11am | Black Brunch & Ball: Drag & Ball performance Brunch

    Community wide event hosted by Synapsis nova - 1675 Union ST Eureka CA

    Close out Juneteenth weekend with a lively brunch celebration filled with drag, fashion, performance, music, and Black Queer joy. The Black Brunch & Ball offers a festive space to gather over food, cheer on local and visiting performers, and celebrate the creativity of Black and 2S/LGBTQIA+ communities. Expect big energy, memorable looks, and a sparkling finale to five days of community programming special guests include King Jamari Amour and his house children of House of Balmain and House of Marc Jacobs. Bar sponsored by The Pony Keg and Brunch for purchase by Mother’s Cooking Experience.
