Play Under the Trees Community Care Initiative

A Place for Play, Healing, and Family Support

Play Under the Trees is more than an indoor play space. We are building a family-centered community hub where children can play, grow, and feel supported, and where families can access helpful services in one welcoming place.

Our nonprofit side is designed to make sure more families can benefit from what we offer, especially those who need extra support.

We hope to provide:

  • Safe indoor play for children year-round

  • Free playgroups for little ones and caregivers

  • Mental health support for children, youth, and families

  • Physical therapy and wellness partnerships

  • Social services and family resource support

  • Supervised visitation services

  • Youth enrichment programs that support learning, confidence, creativity, and emotional wellness

  • Inclusive and sensory-friendly programming for children with different needs

Why It Matters

Families in Humboldt County need more safe indoor spaces for children, especially during cold, wet, or unpredictable weather. Many families also need easier access to care, support, and community connection.

Play Under the Trees is being created to meet those needs in a way that feels joyful, welcoming, and supportive.

We imagine a place where:

  • children can safely play and explore

  • families can find support without stigma

  • caregivers can build connection with others

  • youth can access enriching programs that help them thrive

  • all families feel seen, included, and cared for
