Support Black Humboldt’s annual Black Liberation Month programming by coordinating community events, managing outreach, and uplifting Black culture and history. This rotating position works closely with the team to organize activities, promote engagement, and celebrate liberation and resilience.

Arts for Black & Brown Bodies Coordinator
Open Now | $18.50/hour | 20 hours annually (August–November)
Lead the planning and coordination of the Arts for Black & Brown Bodies series — a celebration of art, identity, and healing. This rotating role helps curate artists, plan workshops or showcases, and collaborate with local creatives to amplify the voices of Black and Brown artists.

Juneteenth Coordinator
Open Now | $18.50/hour | 20 hours annually (May–June)
Help organize Black Humboldt’s Juneteenth celebration — honoring freedom, culture, and community. Coordinators assist with event logistics, vendor coordination, community outreach, and creating an inclusive and joyful celebration.

Back-to-School Kit Builder
Opens August 2026 | $18.50/hour | 5 hours annually (August)
Join the team in assembling and distributing Back-to-School kits for local youth. This short-term, rotating position helps prepare materials, pack supplies, and support Black Humboldt’s community care initiatives before the new school year begins.

BH Informational Tabling Team Member
Opens May 2026 | $16.50/hour | Year-round (May–October)
Represent Black Humboldt at community events, fairs, and outreach opportunities. Tabling team members engage with the public, share information about programs and resources, and help grow awareness of Black Humboldt’s mission. Flexible, ongoing opportunities available throughout the year.

We welcome storytelling, community experiences, or examples of your learning journey — not just professional achievements. You may include personal, artistic, cultural, or organizing experiences. We will also accept a video recording of you speaking on these items.
How do you understand the work of decolonization, and how does that understanding shape the way you lead, create, or collaborate? Share an experience where you have worked to deconstruct systems of harm, colonization, or inequity within your field or community. What did you learn from that process?
