As many know by now, Humboldt County Supervisor Rex Bohn apologized for recently making a racist joke about Mexicans. Many of us are appalled by how easily dismissive he and his supporters have been. We need to share our stories, perspectives and reasoning in order to educate Humboldt County about how dangerous the beliefs and assumptions underlying these jokes are. Join us at the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors Meeting, Tuesday, April 16, 8:30am, County Courthouse, in Eureka, for public comment. Racism against Indigenous Peoples, People of Color, against Josiah Lawson and his family, has long been excused in our County. Help us send a message that it will no longer be tolerated.
